Three rounds, one word each. Letters drop from the top and you slide along the bottom to meet them. A letter caught in the wrong slot does not spell the word, so you are tracking which letter is falling and where it has to go at the same time.
Fireballs fall too, and they end the round. They are the reason you cannot simply park under the next letter and wait — the safe lane and the right lane are often not the same lane.
Three things that help
- Watch two letters ahead, not one. The letter after the one you are catching decides which way you should already be drifting.
- Give up on a letter you cannot reach cleanly. Taking a fireball to save one letter costs the whole round.
- Rounds get faster. Bank the first word without a scratch rather than chasing style points you will want later.
