Diwali diya gameDiya Detective — one of 29 games in Padamz
Rows of lit diyas, a rangoli ring and an oil lamp that is your clock. Every round hides one thing that does not belong, or one lamp missing from a pattern. Light every lamp on the festival row.

Each diya has a style, a flame colour, a plate, a marigold or not, and a size. In an odd-one-out round every diya shares a trait except one: tap it. Some rounds hide two. In a pattern round a row or a rangoli ring repeats, and you pick the card that fills the gap.
Your lamp burns while you look, and a wrong tap spills five seconds of oil. Quick answers build a combo. From the second level some traits are camouflage, changing at random to fool the eye, and on later levels the diyas dance, trading places while you search. 24 levels, a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, and an endless night.
Three things that help
- Look at one trait at a time: all the flames first, then the styles.
- In a pattern, find where it starts again. Most repeat every two, three or four lamps.
- On dancing levels, fix your eyes on the odd one the moment you see it.
Questions
Is every round fair?
Yes. Every round is checked to have exactly one answer before you see it.
Is it good for children?
Yes. There is nothing to read in the rounds, only lamps to compare, and the early levels are gentle.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no account, in the browser and in the Padamz app.
Where it sits in Padamz
Padamz is 29 games in one place, free and with no account. The spine is a daily word puzzle in twelve languages — Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, English, Spanish and Dutch — with one hidden word a day and six tries at it. Diya Detective is one of the games around it, and none of them are locked: you can play any of them the moment you arrive. There is an Android app and an iPhone app as well, and everything keeps working offline once it has loaded.
Opened from inside Padamz, every round counts on Diya Detective's weekly leaderboard: pick an avatar once and compete with players everywhere — the board resets each Monday, and last week's top three wear a crown.
