Fill the grid so every row, every column and every box holds each digit once. Every puzzle here has exactly one answer, and every one can be solved by logic alone: no guessing, ever.
Play Sudoku →How Sudoku works
The levels start with a 6×6 warm-up and climb through classic 9×9 to X-Sudoku, where the two long diagonals also hold 1 to 9 once, and Hyper, where four shaded windows do too. Each level is graded by the hardest step it needs: singles first, then pairs and locked candidates, then X-Wings and triples, and at the top XY-Wings and Swordfish. A level marked hard really needs that step, because a solver checks every grid.
Tap a square, then a digit. A digit that cannot be right is thrown back and costs points, so think first. Notes pencil small candidates, and placing a digit clears it from the notes around it. Hint fills the next square you could get by logic and says why: which single, which pair, which X-Wing cleared the way. It costs points, but it teaches the move.
Two looks, Paper and Midnight. Your leaderboard score is your best on every level added up, so replaying a level for three stars raises it.
Three things that help
- Look for the digit that is missing from a box before the box that is missing a digit. Scanning one digit across the grid finds hidden singles fast.
- Pencil notes only once singles run out. Two squares in a row that can only hold the same two digits remove those digits from the rest of the row.
- Stuck? Take one hint and read the reason. Next time you will see the same pattern without it.

Where it sits in Padamz
Padamz is 29 games in one place, free and with no account. The spine is a daily word puzzle in twelve languages — Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, English, Spanish and Dutch — with one hidden word a day and six tries at it. Sudoku is one of the games around it, and none of them are locked: you can play any of them the moment you arrive. There is an Android app and an iPhone app as well, and everything keeps working offline once it has loaded.
Opened from inside Padamz, every round counts on Sudoku's weekly leaderboard: pick an avatar once and compete with players everywhere — the board resets each Monday, and last week's top three wear a crown.
